The Bite Science Optix range is designed for serious lure anglers who demand the light weight, responsiveness, crisp actions and quality components expected from specialist finesse equipment.

The 2–4kg models are purpose-built for finesse soft plastics and hard bodies targeting bream, trout, redfin, Australian bass and estuary perch, while the 3–6kg model provides additional versatility for flathead and other medium estuary species.

The 6–10kg model extends the same responsive Optix platform into heavier lure applications for larger estuary and inshore predators. With 30T graphite blanks, Fuji K guides and modern low-profile componentry at $129.95 RRP, Optix delivers specialist, premium-quality lure fishing equipment without the premium price tag.

30T Graphite Blank

The Optix range is built on responsive 30T graphite blanks that provide the light and crisp feel required for modern lure fishing. The responsive blank helps anglers work lures accurately and detect subtle changes through the rod while retaining the power required for the intended line class.

Fuji K Guides

Genuine Fuji K guides are used throughout the Optix range, providing high-quality line management suited to modern braided-line fishing. The K-style guide design complements the responsive graphite blank and provides a premium component normally expected on higher-quality lure rods.

Fast, Responsive Action

Optix rods feature crisp, fast actions developed around lure fishing. The responsive tip allows anglers to impart action into soft plastics, hard bodies and other artificial lures while providing direct feedback through the blank, making the range particularly well suited to anglers who actively work their lures.

Modern Low-Profile Grip Design

The 2–4kg and 3–6kg Optix models feature a modern minimalist grip and reel seat arrangement that reduces unnecessary material around the reel seat and gives the rods a clean, lightweight finesse appearance. The design also provides a direct and comfortable connection between the angler and rod during repeated lure casting.

Purpose-Built Foregrip on 6–10Kg Model

The heavier Optix 662 SPMH 6–10kg features a larger foregrip than the lighter finesse models, providing anglers with additional grip and control when applying pressure to larger fish. This gives the heavier model a grip configuration better suited to its increased 18–45g casting range and 6–10kg line class without changing the overall Optix design language.

Split-Butt Construction

All Optix models use a modern split-butt design developed around lure casting. Removing unnecessary grip material helps maintain the lightweight, contemporary feel of the rods while providing comfortable grip points for casting and fighting fish.

Integrated Hook Keeper

Each Optix rod includes a dedicated hook keeper, giving lure anglers a convenient location to secure their lure between casts or when moving between fishing locations rather than attaching hooks to the guide frames.

What makes the Optix a finesse rod?

The Optix combines a responsive 30T graphite blank, fast lure-oriented action, Fuji K guides and a lightweight modern grip configuration. The lighter 2–4kg and 3–6kg models are particularly well suited to finesse lure fishing because they provide the crisp response and feedback anglers want when casting and working lightweight soft plastics and hard body lures.

Which Optix model should I choose?

The 7'6" 2–4kg model provides additional length for anglers wanting increased casting reach and line control with finesse presentations, while the 7' 2–4kg provides a more compact and versatile finesse setup. The 7' 3–6kg model steps up to a 7–28g casting range for larger soft plastics and hard bodies, while the 6'6" 6–10kg model handles 18–45g lures and is designed for anglers targeting substantially larger estuary and inshore predators.

Do the Optix rods use Fuji guides?

Yes. All four Optix models use genuine Fuji K guides together with Fuji tip guides. The guide configurations are sized specifically for each model and complement the lightweight 30T graphite blanks and lure-focused design of the range.
